Yep, I think I do. :)
My mom was pretty horrified too - she saw her pretty much immediately as a condescending attempt to get women who supported Hillary to vote for them, and generally said "do they think we're *stupid?* a lot. Big reason I was able to convince her to vote for Obama, I think. But, yeah, liking Palin seems to primarily come from identifying with her in the identity politics way enough to view any criticism of her as automatically unfair. I don't understand it at all, myself.
